Material: 2 mm corten steel (forms a protective rust layer)
Design: Folded edges for extra strength and a refined finish
Construction: Modular system that can be extended as needed. Corner section with 35 cm outer length on the angled side
Production: Manufactured in Denmark at byJEMA’s own factory
Surface: Delivered untreated – patina develops naturally over time
Assembly: Supplied as a self-assembly kit including bolts, nuts, and instructions
Bottom plate: Available as an option – recommended for placement on tiles, wood, or concrete
Drainage: The bottom plate has drainage holes and raises the box approx. 5 mm above the surface
Corten steel requires no maintenance – the material is made to stay outdoors all year round.
The characteristic rust color acts as a protective layer that prevents further corrosion.
🧽 Rinse lightly with warm soapy water after installation to remove any oil film.
🌦️ The surface changes from dark steel color to a warm golden tone over the course of a few months.
📐 The corner model is ideal for defining edges around terraces, driveways, or garden corners.
💡When placing on tiles, we recommend using a bottom plate to avoid rust marks and ensure good drainage.

Corten steel does not negatively affect the plants – and when growing vegetables, the sides can be lined with plastic foil or insulation mats.
💡 Fill the soil all the way to the top edge, ensure good drainage, and use nutrient-rich raised-bed soil or compost.
Does rust run off onto tiles?
In the first period while the patina is developing, some light runoff may occur.
This can be avoided by using a bottom plate or placing the box on gravel or soil.
Can I grow edible plants in corten steel?
Yes – corten steel does not negatively affect the plants. For vegetables, the sides of the box can be lined for extra protection and insulation.
Does corten steel require maintenance?
No – the material takes care of itself. You simply let nature do the work.
