Material:
Corten steel – a corrosion-resistant steel that develops a rustic, protective surface when exposed to wind and weather.
Delivered with a thin oil film and is therefore not rusted upon delivery.
Placement:
• Can be placed on tiles, gravel or concrete
• Bottom plate – optionally with wheels – can be purchased (recommended on solid surfaces such as tiles and stone)
• Must be placed on a flat and stable surface
💡 The first few times the fire pit is heated, the material may move slightly. After cooling, it settles back into place – and stabilizes after a few heating cycles.
Corten steel:
We recommend washing with mild soapy water after installation to remove the oil film.
After this, the patination process will start naturally and form a beautiful and protective surface.
The colour gradually develops from light orange to deeper reddish-brown tones, giving a natural, rustic look.
Corten steel lasts up to eight times longer than ordinary steel – in Danish conditions often more than 50 years.
💡 When placing on tiles or wood, we recommend using a base plate to avoid rust staining. Any marks can be removed with oxalic acid.
