Turn your CUBY 80 × 80 fire pit into a real pizza oven with a carbon steel baking plate and stainless steel lid.
The baking plate is shielded from the direct flames and gives your dough a crisp, airy pizza base, while the lid retains the heat and creates the perfect oven effect.
The temperature is easily adjusted by sliding the lid more or less over the embers and flames.
We love Neapolitan-style pizza at around 400 °C over open fire – but you can also bake at lower temperatures. It all depends on how you build the fire and where you position the lid.

• The baking plate must be seasoned with oil just like your grill plate
• Use a neutral cooking oil to build up a natural non-stick surface
• Clean after use with a scraper/brush and a little oil – avoid dish soap and soaking

• Wipe with mild soapy water and a soft cloth
• Avoid scouring agents, steel wool and harsh sponges that may scratch the surface

How do I control the temperature in the pizza oven?
The temperature is controlled by moving the lid more or less over the embers and flames. The further it covers the fire, the higher the heat inside the oven.
What is the ideal temperature for pizza?
For Neapolitan-style pizza, we recommend around 400 °C on the baking plate. You can also bake at lower temperatures for a more classic “family pizza”.
Does the pizza need to be rotated while baking?
Yes, the pizza should be rotated several times during baking to achieve an evenly crisp base all the way around.
